Sherman Hemsley of The Jeffersons, Moved On Up to a Deluxe Apartment In the Sky

Sherman Hemsley, the actor who made the character George Jefferson famous in “The Jeffersons,” and who later played as the eccentric Judge Robertson in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died of natural causes at his home in El Paso, Texas. He was 74.
